Hello Champions, Commissioner.
Yes the numbers are off. This is a very expensive sport, and in 2009 I "Guarantee" that you players will have an "Everything Hang out" educational Symposium, to answer "ALL" questions, and give the LCFLs position. There is too much hearsay, and distortion in what the LCFL , and its Membership's goals are.
Many of our Owners are not properly informed, or just plain distort the truth when they inform you. It is truly unfair, and just plain wrong that you mostly receive unrealistic, and bad information from your owners. Some of them even come on this board, and gave bad information under Fake names, and as "Guest". The LCFL has always been an open book, and we will continue to be so. We do not have anything to hide. Many of our owners are shocked, and disappointed at your responses to much of the information. For the most part they strive, to the best of their ability, to maintain the basics. Our goal in 2009, is to continue to raise the bar of the sport, and help our ownership groups to become better businesses
There is rumored to be competition on the horizon. Because of false info, and lack of understanding, there are "Rumors" that many teams are searching for better answers. The LCFL West is strong, is preparing for the 2009 season. We expect that the League will be even more exciting, and competitive. The LCFL West is looking to streamline our structure. We don't have all the answers, Nobody does, but we have done what we said we would do, and with continued quality input, there is no telling where WE could take this. Additionally there are many opportunities that are popping up everyday, that will propel the LCFL into it's own dimension. It is not in concrete yet, but I do think our relationship with the NAFL will end...We are working to build Our own National Championship from within?.More to come on that subject
I wasn't going to comment on many subjects, but one in particular I must. Finance!! Many have the misconception that League fees are $5000. The 5K (ONE TIME) Franchise fee has not been charged in the last TWO YEARS... This fee was charged in 2005-2006 because there was an attempt to get all teams to an level playing Field. For the 5K (ONE TIME), each team received 53 Brand New Helmets, New Home, and Away game uniforms. Also each new team received 1/2 of their referee fees back in reimbursement. This was a great deal, and it allowed new teams to the league to immediately compete. Additionally, there is a once a year $1000 that was charged for league membership. There has never been a $4000 fee charged. Because the LCFL attempted to consolidate So Cal 2 years ago, the Equipment component of the equation was eliminated, and a New expansion program was designed for existing teams that had the basics already. This Franchise fee was $3000 (ONE TIME)!!! This fee was composed of a $2000 Franchise fee(ONE TIME) reimbursed @ $275 gme for officials, and the yearly recurring LCFL West League fee of $1000 a year. The $1000 yearly dues are a gift of the LCA (the parent company of the league) to help in the administration, and operation of the league. The LCA still has not sought to recover their substantial loses in the early years. They have continued to support our cause even though many teams that have joined the league, and folded, kept all that the league gave them, without care of thought. The league fund is spent throughout the year on various expenses, and is fully documented and available to "ANY Owner" at ANY time.... We have nothing to hide, and No reason to lie. The league Just spent Almost $8,000 on our League Championship game. This year, as in Every year past, Our Champions receives $2500 CASH for travel, or their business expenses. Additionally they receive 25% of the Championship gate (in 2008 - $874) in Cash after the game. The total received was almost $3400. It is a little disrespectful that there are people putting it out there that we are stealing, or pocketing money. Our owners should be standing up for our position, as they know our motive, and intent. If you have owners that are spreading False info around, then
The reality of this situation is the LCFL West is going to do its best to make our league, the best organized, most respected, and competitive Non Paid leagues in the country. We NEED your help, and support. A little to much info? Trust that it helps....
