After seeing all of the people on this board I thought it might be fun to see if anyone would actually read something other than rants or raves.
Here is step by step on how to beat the Trojans and the Eagles. We played both teams once in Cali and Once in Vegas. Yes they are good but not without weakness.
First the Trojans, a buddy of mine that is on that teams says that they have never practiced all season, they just think they are so good that why bother, and that is a little scary because they are pretty good. The key to beating them on offense is not to allow the QB to throw the ball, the Q is good, but the OLine is weak and slow, they are easily blitzed on but you have to be prepared with packages that confuse them, because they are not in shape or practiced they will cave if you pressure blitz the interior and the outsides. The run is shutdown by stuffing the Center and Guard gaps and leaving the OLB to pursue the sweeps, if you do that they have to pass. If they pass they will throw mostly down field when pressured. You have to make sure to cover the TE or they will eat you alive. They throw the ball around and use what they think to be superior athletes to run around and make things happen. There is no rhyme or reason to the offense they make it up along the way. Stompers dont be fooled, they are guessing, if you come prepared to smash them they will lose control. You have to dominate the D line of the Trojans D line that is all that they have. Come ready with run audibles because they will get tired and you can run over them because they leave holes. The O line has to get them frustrated, hold them on the inside because that will drive them nuts, and they will lose composure. Everything after that is easy, just pass short routes and execute. Shut the Trojans Dline down and the game is over.
The Eagles are much easier to pick apart, but they are still undefeated, You must close the gaps on the run of the Eagles Double Wing, send two backers up the middle and your D tackles up the middle on every play, switch gaps with LB and DT. They always go on "Lets Go" so most of the time you can anticipate the snap. You have to make sure the OLB's stay home and kill anything that comes around that edge. The corners are important if they make sure to cover the pass, no problem. But if there is a run they have to get in the mix and fly into that mass of lineman and blockers like a torpedo. Cut down those blockers and when they cut down the outside the runners always cut up to the middle. The D is another story they are much better on D, tough players. Make sure to switch it up alot and come with audibles. They dont cover the TE much so be aware of that, sweeps work well if set up quick. The Screen is essential to victory, they blitz the outsides and will leave that open on third down conversions.
Both of these teams are beatable but you cannot come out scared they both will punish you on special teams so if you are using starters on KO make sure you get your kicker to put the ball down deep. Hope this aids the incoming underdogs.
